Karolina Astaman practices Urban Design and Architecture in Asia-Pacific, with professional experience in Singapore, China and Indonesia. She is experienced in a wide range of projects from urban revitalization, residential master planning and architecture, to hospitality planning and design.

A cum laude graduate from Bandung Institute of Technology, Indonesia and National University of Singapore, she has been part of some of the best design firms in hospitality, involved in planning and design of five-star hotels to boutique resorts, high-end residences, and hospitality estates. Her academic interest in the urban and social aspects of design led her to further her studies in Urban Design, and encouraged her extensive involvement in various urban revitalization projects ranging from heritage district, CBD planning, and waterfront communities. Her academic journal has been published internationally.

At Bauer+Astaman, Karolina is in charge of the General Management of the office. Her vision is for the office to become a creative and communicative think-tank and, as such, encourages multidisciplinary collaboration in various projects.
